The Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Worker is the Advanced level
LCSW. Positions involve intensive social work services requiring
the exercise of mature professional judgment and the flexible use
of a wide range of social work skills where complex, experienced
diagnostic skills and intervention plans are essential. This level
represents performance of services in serious and complex cases
with demonstrated effectiveness based on sufficient training and
experience. The Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Worker requires
minimal supervision and guidance and exercises independent clinical
judgment. Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Workers carry full
professional responsibility for cases presenting a wide range of
psycho-social and environmental barriers with no limitations as to
the difficulty of services that would be performed. The Advanced
LCSW serves as a role model and resource for clinical practice. In
addition, the Advanced LCSW acts as a driver of departmental goals
and growth.
The Social Work Job Family consists of three levels of professional
non-management social work in a health care institutional setting
at LPCHS: Social Work Clinician, Licensed Clinical Social Worker,
and Advanced Clinical Social Worker. This job family is limited to
those positions that require a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
from an accredited school of social work. As a member of a
multidisciplinary health care team, medical social workers provide
psychosocial interventions to patients as well as their families
receiving services within any department of the LPCHS. Work
typically addresses a variety of biopsychosocial issues and
includes an assessment of the social needs as related to the
patient's health status and the collaborative development of a
treatment plan, including advocacy within the organization and
community, counseling, referrals and practical assistance necessary
to accomplish desired objectives. Provides consultation,
orientation, and training to health care staff on the effects of
biopsychosocial, cultural, and economic issues on the management of
patient/client health needs. Advocates for social work core values
and ethics within Stanford Medicine and the larger community.
Essential Functions

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the

* In addition to independently managing a caseload, an Advanced
Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required to significantly
contribute to the overall mission and objectives of the department
and hospital through consistent participation in at least 3 of the
6 areas listed annually. Engagement in these activities is to be
reviewed with individual's leader and agreed upon as a qualifying
contribution:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely
provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as
possession of any required licenses or certifications is
qualifying.
Education: Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited
college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible and
directly related work experience.
License/Certification: SW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) - Valid
license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the
California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Positions are allocated to one of the three grade levels in this
job family. Positions in this job family are flexibly staffed from
Social Work Clinician to Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Worker,
which means that vacant positions may be filled at any of the three
class/grade levels depending on qualifications; further, that
employees may be promoted to higher levels in this job family when
they meet the minimum qualifications and are recommended for
promotion by management. Levels are distinguished on the basis of
three basic variables:
Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the
role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education,
experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required
by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market
data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary
range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $116,500.80 to $130,624.00
