industries.We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced
Senior Manager of Front End Engineering to lead our frontend
development team. In this role, you will be responsible for
overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high-quality,
user-centric web and mobile applications. You will work closely
with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI
design, and backend engineering, to deliver intuitive and
performant frontend solutions that meet business goals. This is a
key leadership position, requiring both technical expertise and
strong managerial skills to drive the success of our frontend
engineering initiatives.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership
and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of frontend engineers,
fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous
improvement.
- Drive the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development
of frontend engineers, ensuring the team has the skills and
resources needed to succeed.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular
feedback, conducting performance reviews and managing career growth
for team members.Technical Leadership:
- Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of
frontend applications, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable,
and aligned with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the UX/UI design team to create responsive,
accessible, and visually appealing user interfaces.
- Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and
frameworks, evaluating and implementing them as appropriate to
improve development processes and product quality.Project
Management and Delivery:
- Work closely with product management and other stakeholders to
define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure frontend projects are delivered on time, within scope,
and aligned with business objectives.
- Implement and maintain agile development practices, such as
sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure efficient
project execution.Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with backend engineering, Cloud Ops, and other
teams to ensure seamless integration of frontend components with
backend services and APIs.
- Partner with product managers and designers to translate user
stories and wireframes into functional frontend features.
- Drive alignment between engineering and business teams,
ensuring that frontend development efforts support overall company
strategy and goals.Quality Assurance and Performance:
- Implement and enforce coding standards, testing protocols, and
code review practices to maintain high-quality code and reduce
technical debt.
- Monitor and optimize frontend performance, ensuring fast load
times, smooth interactions, and a high-quality user experience
across devices and browsers.
- Address and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and issues
promptly, minimizing disruption to users and stakeholders.Strategic
Planning and Innovation:
- Contribute to the overall engineering strategy, identifying
opportunities for innovation, process improvements, and technology
adoption.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the scalability, reliability, and
security of frontend applications.
- Champion the use of modern frontend technologies and best
practices to keep the company at the forefront of industry
trends.Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software
Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in frontend development, with at least
5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience with modern frontend frameworks and
libraries, such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related
frontend technologies.
- Experience with responsive and mobile-first design
principles.
- Strong knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and
CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with frontend build tools and package managers
(e.g., Webpack, Babel, npm, Yarn).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track
record of building and scaling engineering teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of
working effectively with technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a
focus on delivering high-quality results.$221,000 - $299,000 a
yearThe above salary range is a general guideline and represents a
good faith estimate of what Sonatus could reasonably expect to pay
for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be
determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope
and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the
selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic
location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The Company
reserves the right to modify this range in the future, as needed,
